After a tough loss in Perth a week ago, the All Blacks have bounced back with a 36-0 win over the Wallabies in Auckland on Saturday night. just before kick-off the rain started to settle in which made first-half conditions miserable. That didn’t stop the All Blacks though, running in 2 tries a going 17-0 up at the break. The second half was much the same and the All Blacks kept Australia scoreless through-out the whole game.

2 LOCAL

Last Monday, a 5.5 magnitude earthquake hit Wanaka. For many it brought back memories of Christchurch. The quake had 63 aftershocks. I only felt one so they weren’t really aftershocks. Lots of landslides were caused by the quake, and the road between Hawea and Makarora was closed for a few hours after the shake. Be ready for another as more earthquakes are possible.

3 NATIONAL

An $80 fine has eventually escallated to $7000. The speeding driver went over 50km/h in 2016, the fine was originally $80 but the driver contested the fine. The court dismissed the appeal and then the man went to the high court for a judical review. The court then fined the man $6943 for “an abuse of process”.

4 ME

On Tuesday most MAC sports teams went to Queenstown for the Wakatipu exchange. MAC did not do very well and the teams only won 4 out of the 14 matches played. The 4 games that they won were 9A netball, Girls football first XI, Boys first XI and senior boys volleyball. Wakatipu high were very strong in all of the matches they won, convincingly winning in 9 of the 10. The next closest MAC got were a 2-1 lost in Senior girls vollyball.
